The International Behavior Therapist (IBT) is a trained paraprofessional in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). IBTs work directly with individuals to teach skills in communication, socialization, daily living, play, and learning. They use evidence-based ABA strategies to help clients reach individualized treatment goals. IBTs collect data on progress, follow treatment protocols, and adjust teaching based on a supervisor’s guidance. They do not design or modify treatment plans themselves but implement the programs created by their clinical supervisor. IBTs always work under the supervision of an International Behavior Analyst.
