What is ABA?
ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). ABA started in the 1960s with Skinner. It is based on the science of learning and behavior. Behavior Analysis helps to understand how behavior works, how behavior is affected by the environment, and how learning takes place.

Why do you use ABA?
The goal is to increase behaviors that are helpful and decrease behaviors that are harmful or affect learning. ABA can help:

What is the 'Training in ABA for Parents and Teachers' about?
This is a training course fully based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). You will learn the essentials in ABA, such as:

What is the training in 'Measurement' about?

You will learn the basics of measurement used in ABA.  For example, you will learn about how to prep for data collection; continuous and discontinuous measurement procedures, and how to enter data in graphs. These are crucial skills in ABA. The course is filled with informative PowerPoints (including audio) and gives you access to real-life videos.

What is the training in 'Verbal Behavior Training' about?
Verbal Behavior Training is included in the RBT training, and now we also offer this as a separate course. Verbal Behavior Training is based on B.F. Skinner, and teaches communication using the principles of ABA. The last 10 years, Verbal Behavior Training has fully emerged in the day-to-day ABA sessions. The methods used in Verbal Behavior Training, will also be used to teach non-verbal learners, as well as learners that do not have any verbal skills at all.
You will get 8 great modules, filled with PowerPoint Slides and illustrative videos.


What is the training in 'Behavior Management in ABA' about?
Many professionals would love to learn how to come up with the best plan to help decrease problematic or challenging behaviors. In ABA, we are specialized in this. Through these modules, you will learn the most essential strategies that are part of a behavior intervention plan. You can now learn the basics to help decrease tantrums, aggressive behaviors, and non-compliance. The slides are developed by a Behavior Analyst expert, Willemijn J. Campbell, BCBA, LMFT, who also provides consultations on how to best apply the strategies.

What is the training in 'Reinforcement' about?

Reinforcement is an essential component in helping decrease challenging behaviors and helping increase skills. This course will offer you 11 modules, filled with content, such as the different schedules of Reinforcement and the different types of Reinforcement. What is the training in 'Common ABA Strategies' about?
Absolutely a very popular training for those who just want to learn the basic strategies or get a refresher. You will have access to 17 modules, and learn everything about Instructional Control, discrimination training, Shaping, Chaining, Behavior Momentum, and more. What is the RBT training about?

This is a 40-hour training that will prepare the learner to take the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Competency Assessment exam. The RBT training is based on the RBT Task List 2nd edition and is designed to meet the 40-hour training requirement for the RBT credential. This program is offered independent of the BACB.

What is a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)?
The Registered Behavior Technician™ (RBT) is a paraprofessional who practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a BCBA, BCBA-D or BCaBA. The RBT is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services. The RBT does not design intervention or assessment plans. It is the responsibility of the RBT supervisor to determine which tasks an RBT may perform as a function of his or her training, experience, and competence.

Who can be a Registered Behavior Technician™ (RBT)?
The RBT training is for educators, parents, and other professionals who would like to learn evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and strategies for helping clients, and family members with developmental challenges, various disorders, and/or behavior challenges. In addition, ABA can be used in management processes as well.

How many hours is the RBT training?
The RBT training is a 40-hour training program that covers the RBT Task list (2nd edition), the relevant ethical code elements and an overview of the BCBA, BCaBA, and RBT roles. Learn More

What are the requirements for the RBT credentials?

The credential requirements are established by the BACB. The applicant must:

  • Be 18 years and older
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent prior to beginning the training
  • Complete the 40-hour training covering the RBT Task list (the training must be completed within 180 days from when the participant chooses to begin)
  • Competency assessment: Applicants must pass a behavior-based competency assessment administered by a qualified supervisor
  • Background check: Applicants must pass a criminal background check.
What if I fail to complete the RBT course in 180 days?
You must repurchase the course and restart from the beginning, as the BACB requires that the training be completed within 180 days. Students will not be allowed to complete only the work they failed to complete the first time they took the course.

What type of course is the RBT training? 
The RBT course is a 40-hour online course and includes 83 modules. All modules contain PowerPoint Slides (written in English), with an audio in the language of your choice. The modules contain quizzes, so your knowledge is constantly checked. We used real life videos, recorded in families’ homes and in the community. This makes our ABA coursework an excellent opportunity to learn about ABA in real life experiences.

What will you learn during the RBT training? 
The RBT course teaches evidence-based behavior intervention techniques and strategies for individuals including, but not limited to Data Measurement, Assessment, Skill Acquisition, Behavior Reduction, Documentation and Reporting, Professional Conduct and the Scope of Practice. The training will cover all the tasks and subtasks in the RBT Task List and the ethics requirements that have been designated as being relevant for behavior technicians. And a Free bonus: Verbal Behavior training is included.

What languages do you offer the RBT training?
English, Dutch, Arabic, and Spanish. The text is in English and the audio is in multiple languages.

How long does it take to receive the certificate of completion for each course?
You will receive this immediately after you complete the final exam. You can download it from the portal.

The RBT training covers a variety of topics that are necessary for an individual to pursue a career as a Registered Behavior Technician, working directly with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disabilities.

When are you certified?
After receiving your 40-hour course completion certificate, you are required to find and work in conjunction with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The assessment is complete when the Behavior Technician demonstrates competency in each task as determined by the supervising BCBA.

A registry of Board Certified Behavior Analysts is available through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board website.
